What is FM?

Facility management (FM) is a profession that improves business and our lives by ensuring functionality, comfort, safety, and efficiency of the built environment and is practiced by 25 million people around the world.

What is IFMA?

Established in 1980, the International Facility Management Association (IFMA) is the world’s largest and most widely recognized association for facility management professionals, with 24,000 members in more than 100 countries.

Our diverse membership participates in focused component groups by region (136 chapters), industry (16 councils) and area of specialization (six communities). Together they manage more than 78 billion square feet of property and annually purchase more than US$526 billion in products and services.

IFMA empowers facility professionals to bring a heightened level of excellence to the management of their facilities, teams and workplace projects. Through educational offerings, credentialing programs, industry research, networking, and knowledge sharing, IFMA assists corporate and individual FMs with professional and career growth.

IFMA India

Recent data from JLL estimates that the Indian facility management market accounts for 3.2 percent of the country’s GDP and is growing at an annual rate of 25 percent. IFMA India brings the association’s educational, informational and networking services, programs and benefits directly to you to help you meet this demand.

IFMA has local chapter networking groups in four of the nation’s megacities: Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, and Mumbai. IFMA India employs a Bengaluru-based staff member who liaises directly with the association’s global headquarters staff in the United States.

When you join IFMA, you’ll be a member of the global organization as well as the local chapter nearest to you with access to resources from both. Whether you have years of experience as a facility manager or new to the profession, you will find valuable opportunities to grow your career and business through IFMA.
